Too much going on...

Sorry for delay, have been on holiday and generally being slack. All those waiting for the result of the Toast competition - it will be announced in the next few days.

First up, Digital Soundboy were given the honours to remix one of most talked about names in the scene. We should all know that this super collaboration, Magnetic Man, is made up of Skream, Benga and Artwork. The expectations are high and the question is; will the album be of as high standard as it should be? We will have to wait and see. The Guardian have already dismissed them but I think that article is slightly uneducated and premature. However, this remix makes this tune listenable.

I Need Air (Digital Soundboy Remix) - Magnetic Man

Next, big news - Greymatter has come to my attention in the last couple of months with his deep instrumental route down bass alley. He's being super generous by giving away Part 1 of his album remixes which features the likes of Klic and Illum Sphere. Part 2 is available to buy from the bandcamp page too. Check it, all you need is your email.

Raw Root - Greymatter

Mind Over Matter Remixes Album - Greymatter

Bassnectar knows how to rumble your subs, anyone that can imagine this on a huge rig will know that this would go down a treat. Hefty beat!

Bassnectar Mix - Massive Attack

You know how I feel about George Lenton's production of late, this one, again, ticks the boxes. You might remember the ever-so chilled Mount Kimbie remix of this tune, which is still on heavy rotation round these parts. George takes a more upbeat approach with euphoric stamped across his breakdowns.

Spanish Sahara (George Lenton Remix) - Foals

Kovu's production improves tremendously with each tune he lets out. I came very close to posting his Garage remix but this one gets a post for certain. The vocals fits perfectly with the beat which dosed in ravey synths, energy and space. Summery vibes all over.

Steppin Up (Kovu Remix) - M.I.A

Super clean and tight production from Shooting Horses as usual. Big bouncy party vibes on this one, carnival special.

Mugwanti (Shooting Horses Remix) - DJ Mujava

Lastly, Boogaloo Crew still going from strength to strength. Their latest achievement is to gain approval from Radio 1 Xtra's Ras Kwarme. This 30 minute mix, compiled with nearly all their own material was aired a couple of weeks ago. Get on that Fan Page, if you haven't already...

With all honesty, I despised dub-step until I found this blog. Thank you for broadening my horizons.

Really liking Rising Sun from this mix, one of my favourite dubstep tunes so far. What other artists/labels would you recommend for music similar to this tune?

I'd check out Doc Daneeka, Dark Sky (Boogaloo Crew side project) and Pariah to start with. Let us know how you get on with them.
